| And Israel took his journey4 with all that he had, and came4 to Beersheba, and offered4 sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. |
| And God spake4 unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said,4 Jacob, Jacob. And he said,4 Here [am] I. |
| And he said,4 I [am] God, the God of thy father: fear4 not to go down2 into Egypt; for I will there make4 of thee a great nation: |
| I will go down4 with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely2 bring thee up55 [again]: and Joseph shall put4 his hand upon thine eyes. |
| And Jacob rose up4 from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried4 Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent1 to carry2 him. |
| And they took4 their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten1 in the land of Canaan, and came4 into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him: |

| |
| And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died4 in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul. |
| And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron. |
| |
| These [be] the sons of Leah, which she bare1 unto Jacob in Padanaram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters [were] thirty and three. |

| And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel. |
| These [are] the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave1 to Leah his daughter, and these she bare4 unto Jacob, [even] sixteen 8337 souls. |
| |
| And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born11 Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare1 unto him. |
| And the sons of Benjamin [were] Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard. |

| |
| And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem. |
| These [are] the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave1 unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare4 these unto Jacob: all the souls [were] seven. |
| All the souls that came6 with Jacob into Egypt, which came out6 of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls [were] threescore and six; |
| And the sons of Joseph, which were born27 him in Egypt, [were] two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came6 into Egypt, [were] threescore and ten. |
| And he sent1 Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct53 his face unto Goshen; and they came4 into the land of Goshen. |
| And Joseph made ready4 his chariot, and went up4 to meet2 Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented11 himself unto him; and he fell4 on his neck, and wept4 on his neck a good while. |
| And Israel said4 unto Joseph, Now let me die,4 since I have seen2 thy face, because thou [art] yet alive. |
| And Joseph said4 unto his brethren, and unto his father's house, I will go up,4 and shew55 Pharaoh, and say4 unto him, My brethren, and my father's house, which [were] in the land of Canaan, are come1 unto me; |
| And the men [are] shepherds,6 6629 for their trade hath been to feed cattle; 4735 and they have brought52 their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have. |
| And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call4 you, and shall say,1 What [is] your occupation? |
| That ye shall say,1 Thy servants' trade hath been about cattle 4735 from our youth even until now, both we, [and] also our fathers: that ye may dwell4 in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd6 6629 [is] an abomination unto the Egyptians. |
