1 | To the chief Musician18 upon Sheminith, 8066 A Psalm of David. |
2 | They speak17 vanity every one with his neighbour: [with] flattering lips [and] with a double heart do they speak.17 |
3 | The LORD shall cut off55 all flattering lips, [and] the tongue that speaketh18 proud things: |
4 | Who have said,1 With our tongue will we prevail;55 our lips [are] our own: who [is] lord over us? |
5 | For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise,4 saith4 the LORD; I will set4 [him] in safety [from him that] puffeth55 at him. |
6 | The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried7 in a furnace of earth, purified30 seven times. |
7 | Thou shalt keep4 them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve4 them from this generation for ever. |
8 | The wicked walk101 on every side, when the vilest men 120 are exalted.2 |
