Chapter 85

1

To the chief Musician,18 A Psalm for the sons of Korah.
LORD, thou hast been favourable1 unto thy land: thou hast brought back1 the captivity 7622 of Jacob.

2

Thou hast forgiven1 the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered14 all their sin. Selah.

3

Thou hast taken away1 all thy wrath: thou hast turned52 [thyself] from the fierceness of thine anger.

4

Turn3 us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.54

5

Wilt thou be angry4 with us for ever? wilt thou draw out4 thine anger to all generations?

6

Wilt thou not revive17 us again:4 that thy people may rejoice4 in thee?

7

Shew54 us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant4 us thy salvation.

8

I will hear4 what God the LORD will speak:17 for he will speak17 peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again4 to folly.

9

Surely his salvation [is] nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell2 in our land.

10

Mercy and truth are met8 together; righteousness and peace have kissed1 [each other].

11

Truth shall spring4 out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down8 from heaven.

12

Yea, the LORD shall give4 [that which is] good; and our land shall yield4 her increase.

13

Righteousness shall go17 before him; and shall set4 [us] in the way of his steps.
